Become a ‘hat person’ using these 5 effortless style tips

There are 2 types of people, hat peopleand me.

If you’ve ever said this to yourself, you are definitely not alone. I’ve always wished I could achieve the effortless “off duty” style that comes with throwing on a oh so cool 5 panel snap back.

But the truth is my fear of hats is so out dated and limiting, I knew I had to take a deeper dive in to the trend and found myself asking “why the hell not!” I’m adding a whole new layer of ‘I don’t care’ style to my wardrobe this summer and I urge you to do the same.

Ive broken down the best looks that I believe can suit anyone out there looking to up there style game to ‘whoah easy there cool girl’ level.

Here’s the top 5 looks you should be getting cosy with:

1. Milk Run - Key notes for this look is the oversized baggy top paired with something more streamlined on your legs. Don’t be afraid to tuck in the chunky knit or shirt slightly into your shorts or pants, this show a hint of your shape that is otherwise lost.

2. Beach Daze - Do not overthink this vibe…that is the vibe. Hair down salty crispy curls matched with a baggy tee and a strawberry thick shake.

3. Pilot Mode - Think Top Gun meets Field of Dreams. This leather heavy look, is stripped back effortlessly with your favourite relaxed blue jeans. I suggest Levi’s 501, blue denim is best with this to keep it looking casual, and don’t be afraid of a full length leg (draping over your shoes slightly) to complete the vintage 90s vibe.

4. Overall, its a great idea - Nothing signals I’m too effortless to care like a pair of blue denim overalls. It can sometimes feel like an endless hunt to find the right pair for you but Im here to tell you sometimes it can all start with the hat. Finding a pair of overalls (or dungaree’s) can, at times, be frustrating for the exact same reason as finding the best lid for your head - you feel like a child that just stepped out of Osh Kosh for the first time, BUT what you need to look for is something loose and relaxed on the body. Don’t fret if you feel like it swallows your figure…because its not (I promise) if something is baggy on you match it with tighter tops or bandeaux’s underneath. Fellas, if your getting bored with jeans and a plain white tee, this is the easiest way to instantly update your swag.

5. This old thing - One of my favourite things to do is juxtaposing two different looks, like this right here. Tailored work mode, smashed with weekend coffee club. You end up landing somewhere so sweetly in the middle where you can not possibly be overdress or underdressed. Grab some inspo from these guys below.
